In their obsession to destroy germs, many Americans are using highly toxic household cleaning products. This practice pollutes both the home and the environment. Toxic household cleaning products can increase problems with allergies, asthma and other respiratory problems. They can also contribute to the development of resistant bacteria. Many people have found that their health and the health of their children improved when they switched to less toxic cleaning products. Both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians have suggested that antibiotics should not be routinely given to children with ear infections. They are not only ineffective in most cases, overuse of antibiotics leads to the development of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria and promotes yeast infections, which weaken the immune system. So, what's a parent with a child crying in pain to do? Fortunately, there are some very safe, natural remedies that can reduce the pain and promote rapid healing that are probably available in your home right now.
